“Big Sister” - You Always Wanted (for your daughter, or for YOU!
I offer family and individual mentoring, friendship, and sisterhood. Sisters always have a special bond, so part of my goals are to decrease sibling rivalry and enhance the relationship you currently have with your daughter. The strongest bond comes from the Mother, but you may find yourself to attached, or too emotional to handle all your daughter’s problems, struggles, drama.
I can ease that struggle and strengthen the strongest bond between a mother and daughter. I am, and have always been close to my own mother. We are best friends to this day, but it wasn’t always like that! Middle and High School were rough (that’s an understatement) but even then, I figured out (or was shown) healthy ways to process and understand what was happening inside my body and mind, as much as how others affected me.
I was a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky kid until I hit middle school. Then, the typical mean girls formed their cliques. I wasn't a happy tween or teen, but once I got to college, I began to find quality relationships and friendships, and I started building happiness.
I desperately longed for a big sister all my life. I yearned for someone I could trust and confide in, someone who understood me and could help when I was lonely, afraid, or confused.
Now that I’m in my second half-century, I am that person—the Big Sister I Always Wanted.
I want to be that big sister to another teen or tween who needs help navigating life, building resilience, and fostering emotional well-being. With the wisdom that comes from being a mother to two wonderful daughters (20 and 18), a loving spouse of almost 25 years, and the caretaker of three dogs and three cats, I have a lot of love and understanding to share!

Empower Your Daughter
with an Adopted Big Sister's Guidance
Nurturing Confidence and Resilience in Today's Tweens & Teens
Sisters come in all ages, and I can be the Big Sister You Always Wanted (BSYAW) - for your daughter, or maybe even for yourself. Being a big sister is exactly the role I play—offering guidance and relatable advice in a way teens can connect with. Let's work together to create a supportive, loving environment for your daughter.
Sometimes I hear this…
I think it’s so important to find someone you “jive” with as a counselor/therapist. The last woman she saw in Denver came highly recommended. I have to say I hated her off the bat. She was so rigid and cold. She would make Lulu do these stupid role play exercises and she was so flipping expensive. She would charge us to talk on the phone afterwards if we had any questions and we were not allowed to text or email her. Like I realize that people’s time is important but that is ridiculous!
Lulu (Little Sister) and her Mom, Kate.
(Both statements are from Kate.
The second statement was after the third visit with her daughter.)
Turn into this…
"Also, I can’t tell you how much Lulu loves talking to you! She tells me all the time! She woke up this morning talking about how much she loves it! I am so grateful for you Keri! I am so glad our paths crossed that morning at the studio! ❤️❤️"

Give your pre-teen, tween, or teen the loving compassion and support of a generous Big Sister & BFF
Keri Atchley, B.S.Y.A.W.
